As a sustainable, feasible, abundant one-carbon synthon, carbon dioxide (CO₂) displays great potential in the synthesis of heterocycles, which are privileged motifs in pharmaceuticals and natural products. However, the low reactivity and high stability of CO₂ are the challenge. Our group has tried to develop practical and efficient approaches for CO₂ fixation with or without metal catalysts.
