Prof. Shengming Ma (麻生明)

Shengming was born in 1965 in Zhejiang Province, China. He received a B.S. degree in Chemistry from Hangzhou University (1986), and an MS (1990) and a Ph.D. (1990) from Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences. After his postdoctoral appointments at ETH with Prof. Venanzi and Purdue University with Prof. Negishi from 1992–1997, he joined the faculty of SIOC in 1997. From February 2003 to September 2007, he was jointly appointed by SIOC and Zhejiang University. In 2007, he moved to East China Normal University to help to build the research program in organic chemistry there by installing the required infrastructure and recruiting new faculty members. Since 2014, he joined Fudan University as full professor. Shengming also serves as the editor-in-chief of Organic Chemistry Frontiers and Chinese Journal of Chemistry.
